I asked Ibn 'Abbas how old was he when death overtook the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: I little know that such a thing is not known to a man like you who belong to his people. He said: I asked people about it but they differed with me, and I liked to know your opinion about it. He said: Do you know counting? He said: Yes. He then said: Bear this in mind very well that he was commissioned (as a Prophet) at the age of forty, and he stayed in Mecca for fifteen years; sometime in peace and sometime in dread, and (lived) for ten years after his migration to Medina. - Hadith Muslim 2353a (islam)

Recite in the name of your Lord who created - - Quran Al-'Alaq(Al-'Alaq) 96:1 (islam)
Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful. - Quran Ali 'Imran(The Family of Imran) 3:144 (islam)
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing. - Quran Al-Ahzab(The Confederates) 33:40 (islam)
The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the form of good righteou
(true) dreams in his sleep. He never had a dream but that it came true like bright day light. He used t
go in seclusion (the cave of) Hira where he used to worship(Allah Alone) continuously for man
(days) nights. He used to take with him the journey food for that (stay) and then come back to (hi
wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again for another period to stay, till suddenly the Trut
descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him in it and asked him t
read. The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "I do not know how to read." (The Prophet (ﷺ) added), "The angel caught m
(forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and agai
asked me to read, and I replied, "I do not know how to read," whereupon he caught me again an
pressed me a second time till I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and asked me again t
read, but again I replied, "I do not know how to read (or, what shall I read?)." Thereupon he caugh
me for the third time and pressed me and then released me and said, "Read: In the Name of your Lord
Who has created (all that exists). Has created man from a clot. Read and Your Lord is Mos
Generous...up to..... ..that which he knew not." (96.15
Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) returned with the Inspiration, his neck muscles twitching with terror till h
entered upon Khadija and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over an
then he said, "O Khadija, what is wrong with me?" Then he told her everything that had happened an
said, 'I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija said, 'Never! But have the glad tidings, for b
Allah, Allah will never disgrace you as you keep good reactions with your Kith and kin, speak th
truth, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guest generously and assist the deserving, calamityafflicte
ones." Khadija then accompanied him to (her cousin) Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bi
`Abdul `Uzza bin Qusai. Waraqa was the son of her paternal uncle, i.e., her father's brother, wh
during the Pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the Arabic writing and used t
write of the Gospels in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had los
his eyesight. Khadija said to him, "O my cousin! Listen to the story of your nephew." Waraqa asked
"O my nephew! What have you seen?" The Prophet (ﷺ) described whatever he had seen
Waraqa said, "This is the same Namus (i.e., Gabriel, the Angel who keeps the secrets) whom Alla
had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would tur
you out." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked, "Will they turn me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said
"Never did a man come with something similar to what you have brought but was treated wit
hostility. If I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support yo
strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a whil
and the Prophet (ﷺ) became so sad as we have heard that he intended several times to throw himself fro
the tops of high mountains and every time he went up the top of a mountain in order to throw himsel
down, Gabriel would appear before him and say, "O Muhammad! You are indeed Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) i
truth" whereupon his heart would become quiet and he would calm down and would return home. An
whenever the period of the coming of the inspiration used to become long, he would do as before, bu
when he used to reach the top of a mountain, Gabriel would appear before him and say to him what h
had said before. (Ibn `Abbas said regarding the meaning of: 'He it is that Cleaves the daybreak (fro
the darkness)' (6.96) that Al-Asbah. means the light of the sun during the day and the light of th
moon at night). - Hadith Al Bukhari 6982 (islam)

While we were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his
camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: "Who amongst you is Muhammad?"
At that time the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting amongst us (his companions) leaning on his arm. We replied,
"This white man reclining on his arm." The man then addressed him, "O Son of `Abdul Muttalib."
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I am here to answer your questions." The man said to the Prophet, "I want to ask
you something and will be hard in questioning. So do not get angry." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ask whatever
you want." The man said, "I ask you by your Lord, and the Lord of those who were before you, has
Allah sent you as an Apostle to all the mankind?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "By Allah, yes." The man
further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to offer five prayers in a day and night (24
hours).? He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The man further said, "I ask you by Allah! Has Allah ordered
you to observe fasts during this month of the year (i.e. Ramadan)?" He replied, "By Allah, Yes." The
man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to take Zakat (obligatory charity) from
our rich people and distribute it amongst our poor people?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "By Allah, yes."
Thereupon that man said, "I have believed in all that with which you have been sent, and I have been

"A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was at Ji'rana. The man was wearing a cloak which had traces of

in my `Umra?' So, Allah inspired the Prophet (ﷺ) divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I
wished to see the Prophet (ﷺ) being divinely inspired. `Umar said to me, 'Come! Will you be pleased to
look at the Prophet (ﷺ) while Allah is inspiring him?' I replied in the affirmative. `Umar lifted one corner
of the cloth and I looked at the Prophet (ﷺ) who was snoring. (The sub-narrator thought that he said: The
snoring was like that of a camel). When that state was over, the Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Where is the
questioner who asked about `Umra? Put off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your
body and clean the Sufra (yellow color) and perform in your Umra what you perform in your Hajj (i.e.
